Recife im Nordosten, die Hauptstadt Brasilia, die Metropolen Sao Paulo und Rio de Janeiro waren die vier Reisestationen.

Delegates from the German water management travelled to Brazil (November, 24th to December, 2nd 2007)

From November 24th to December the 2nd 2007 15 delegates from the German water management travelled to Brazil to get an idea of the local conditions of the sewage disposal and water management. The journey was under the direction of the Rhine-Ruhr Institute of Social Research and Political Consultancy (RISP) at the University of Duisburg-Essen and German Waters brasilien-015se.V.. It was also grant-aided by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) and connected with their project: „Support of cooperation between technical services and innovative companies". The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) supported the journey in contact with the project ProWaDi. The delegation was represented by members of the management (Production, Engineering, technical services), research scientists and representatives of both departments.

Support for a successful market entry in Bulgaria

sikos-kolevaCompanies of the waste management, the wind energy trade and the steel industry joined an intensive workshop on November, 26th 2007. The consultant Ms. Stanislawa Koleva works for Sikos-us in Sofia and was only travelling to Germany for the workshop at the BEW to talk about chances and risks on the Bulgarian market. The idea to organise a workshop for German companies at the BEW was developed at the fair in Plovdiv/ Bulgaria. At the fair, project members of ProWaDi came in contact with German business partners and potential Bulgarian partners.

ProWaDi continued its Bulgarian activities on the ITM 2007 in Plovdiv 

The project ProWaDi continued in connection with German Water e.V. its Bulgarian activities at the International Technical Fair in Plovdiv (24. – 28.09.2007). The AQUATECH which was part of the ITM 2007 in Plovdiv – the Hannover of the Balkan – offered with its orientation to the water management a good surrounding for ProWaDi.

ProWaDi congress – „Business plans for the export in the water management“

45 participants of companies, associations, politic and research met on September the 4th. Export perspectives in the German water management was one of the topic of the congress. With wide-ranging lectures the companies were represented (Uwe Mietrasch – Gelsenwasser Corp.) on one hand and the science (Prof. Georg Simonis – Distance University of Hagen) on the other hand. Basic results so far were presented by Joachim Liesenfeld (RISP), member of ProWaDi. Above all he reported of the export potentials of the value chain in the water management sector. Dr. Thomas Krätzig, member of the managing board of German Water, gave a summery of experiences and perspectives on the international water market. General perspectives with concrete examples for business plans in the export sector as well as country reports were presented in the afternoon. Results of the company evaluation – export orientation of the German water management

263 companies take part on the evaluation. The results demonstrate that the internationalization of the German water management in the export sector are relatively small. The poll was preformed by two projects of the BMBF sponsorship, one is “Export potential and Internationalization of Services” under the direction of RISP (Duisburg, project ProWaDi) and the other one is SOFI (Göttingen). Although the producing companies of the water management (e.g. plant construction, production of components) are more export orientated than other service companies. Nevertheless there are trends which refer to an increasing interest in the export sector. The results consist interesting aspects of the export of the water management in different target regions, specially to East-/Southeast Europe and China.

Result report of the exchange initiative for the German water management in Bulgaria  

1. Organization and realisation 

The exchange initiative for the German and Bulgarian water management took place on October, 30th-31st 2006 in Sofia. Main target was to build up business contacts. Meeting place was the Hilton Hotel. The exchange initiative was organised by the Rhine-Ruhr Institute of Social Research and Political Consultancy (RISP/Joachim Liesenfeld) in connection with the Training Centre for Waste Disposal and Water Management (BEW/Ralf Osinski) and German Water e.V. (Heinz Fringes).
